Why do I blog?

Thanx Jonathan for the meme, I am very proud and happy to answer. After having thought about it for a while, the following points seem to be most valid to me (no particular order):

Writing practice

As my native language is German and I decided to keep this website in English, writing blog entries is a good practice for my written English skills

Keep the others informed

If you connect to many people, not only via internet but in the real world as well, it resembles a nice way to keep the outside world updated about me and my life etc.

Share

I just started this blog a few weeks ago, but I feel that it is (together with the point above) important to share knowledge & experience, but also joy & pain with other people. It will never replace a good talk with a good friend or people you love, but it is nevertheless a great chance to tell others what you feel, what you know, what you experienced. And: by commenting, people are able to give feedback on your thoughts, which might lead to new thoughts etc. So: if you can’t talk or can’t chat: blog & comment!

The more I think about it: Is it possible that this has also some therapeutical aspect to it? You know, some people keep a diary, which, among other things, serves as a medium that you can present your thoughts and experiences of the day to. So maybe a blog, my blog, has a similar meaning to me. Although I am not entirely sure. Maybe not that much as a diary, but still.

I am passing the meme along to…well, I don’t have that many blog-writing-collegues I can pass it along to, but what about Wolfgang, the great, the magnificent designer from Graz, Austria.
