If you ever wanted to know how the most popular search engine came to life, this book is for you.
David Vise, the author of the book, describes how Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the two Google founders, met at Stanford, created their search technology and because of the lack of interest from companies in buying the technology, they left Stanford to found their own company.
The book describes how it all started, tells you about the history of the Google boys, how they managed to convince two venture capital firms to invest and the immense growth in popularity up to the point of their unconventional IPO in 2004.
It also gives insights into how some of the other successful Google projects, e.g. Google News, originated and what kind of other visions they have in mind to get as much as information accessible for everyone.
A very interesting read, not only for people who work in the Web business. It also tells the story of two guys believing in their product and their vision and succeeding in the end—the American dream just got digital.
